Oparanya Responds to Sifuna’s Plea for Political Blessing

Co-operatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya has responded to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s public request for his political blessing, asking the senator to meet him privately and explain his ambitions and plans ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Oparanya said political blessings should not be sought casually while someone is already pursuing their journey. He urged Sifuna to visit him, sit down, and explain where he was coming from and where he intended to go.

“If you want blessing, you don’t ask for it while you’re on the way. You have to come, then we sit down and talk,” Oparanya said, signalling his willingness to hear Sifuna’s political plans.

The former Kakamega governor added that he also had ideas that could benefit Kenyans. He suggested that he and Sifuna could combine their ideas and strategies, potentially creating a stronger approach to addressing the needs of ordinary citizens.
