Kenyan socialite and entrepreneur Risper Faith has expressed her unease after encountering what she described as “terrifying” Halloween decorations in her American neighborhood.
The reality star, who recently relocated to the United States to join her husband Brian, shared a TikTok video showing homes decorated with skeletons, tombstones, and eerie inflatables ahead of the October 31 celebrations.
In the viral clip, a visibly unsettled Risper walked from one house to another, capturing the creepy displays while questioning the meaning behind them.
“May the devil be defeated. I’m scared of this place. You walk past someone’s house and find they’ve placed a grave outside. How can people joke with death like this?” she said.
“They call it Halloween, but to me, it feels like something dark. I can’t even sleep at night; my heart is pounding.”
Risper went on to criticize what she called the “mixing of faith and fear,” saying it was confusing how Americans transitioned from Halloween straight into Christmas decorations.
“How can you celebrate something that glorifies darkness and then move immediately to the birth of Christ?” she wondered.
Her followers flooded the comments section, with some urging her to come back home.
“Rudi Kenya, huku ni mashetani tu,” one fan wrote. Others, however, found humor in her reaction, saying she was simply experiencing cultural shock.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Minister Nashomi Wangara advised Christians to approach Halloween with wisdom.
“While it may seem like innocent fun, Halloween’s roots and symbols are linked to darkness. Believers should instead use the day to spread light, pray, or host positive gatherings,” she said.
Risper has previously shared challenges adjusting to her new environment, including a tense moment when neighbors complained about loud music from her home.
Despite her struggles, she remains active online, giving fans a glimpse into her American life and the cultural surprises that come with it.
