Musalia Mudavadi Goes to Busia a Day after Sifuna Rally in the Area

A political showdown is unfolding in Western Kenya after Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi swiftly moved into Busia County, barely a day after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna staged his rallies in the area.

Mudavadi’s visit is widely seen as a calculated counter-move by the Kenya Kwanza administration, aimed at neutralising the growing influence of Sifuna’s grassroots wave that has been sweeping across the region.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary is expected to lead a major mobilisation meeting for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) supporters at Butula Grounds, where he will rally locals behind President William Ruto’s 2027 re-election bid.

His arrival signals the ruling coalition’s urgency in reclaiming political dominance in a region that is quickly turning into a battleground.

Sifuna, on the other hand, has been intensifying his presence through the Linda Mwananchi movement, drawing large crowds in Busia and neighbouring counties.
