“For 23 Long Years My Savings Would Vanish Almost Immediately After Receiving Them And I Could Never Build Anything For Myself” – Kisumu Man Narrates The Painful Struggle That Nearly Broke Him

 

For more than two decades, 47-year-old Peter Ochieng from Kisumu County says life felt like an endless cycle of frustration, disappointment, and unanswered questions. 

Despite working hard and earning a steady income through casual construction jobs and small business deals, he could never understand why his money disappeared before making any meaningful progress. 

Month after month, he would receive his salary or savings, only for unexpected expenses, family emergencies, or mysterious circumstances to wipe out everything, leaving him with nothing to show for years of hard work.

According to Peter, the pain of watching his peers build homes, educate their children, and invest in businesses while he remained stuck pushed him into depression. 

“For over 23 years, every month I would get my savings, but it just disappeared without me making any proper use of it. I tried saving in SACCOs, opening chama accounts, and even hiding money at home, but somehow everything would vanish before helping me,” he painfully recalled.
