Speaking on his strategy under the Linda Mwananchi movement banner, the outspoken lawmaker has emphasized that entering a presidential race requires careful constitutional groundwork and broad-based national support rather than premature political excitement.
Sifuna has pointed out that his team has only engaged grassroots voters in a fraction of the country, making an immediate presidential declaration tactical foolishness.
He has underscored that meeting constitutional threshold requirements remains the cornerstone of any serious bid for State House.
"We have had rallies in only 14 counties. We have not gone to 33 counties and we must visit them as well," Sifuna has explained. "The Constitution says you must get 25 per cent of the votes in half the counties. When I am done with all the counties, I will answer you when you ask if I will contest for the presidency."
By invoking the constitutional requirement which mandates that a winning presidential candidate must secure at least 25 percent of the votes cast in more than half of Kenya's 47 counties Sifuna is signaling a structured and calculated approach.
He insists that establishing a genuine nationwide presence takes precedence over chasing headlines or making empty political promises.
