Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has revealed plans to establish a new political movement, arguing that Linda Mwananchi has strayed from the mission it was originally created to pursue.
Speaking during an interview on Wednesday, Amisi expressed disappointment with the current direction of the movement, claiming it no longer reflects the ideals that inspired its formation.
He maintained that a fresh platform is needed to continue advocating for meaningful political and social change, revealing plans to abandon the current formation for a new one which will come soon.
“The Linda Mwananchi did not understand its initial assignment, and it has deviated from its original course, and that is why I want to form a new movement that will continue with the struggle,” Amisi said, as reported by the People Daily.
He noted that a team of strategists is already working on the agenda and policies that will guide the initiative.
Amisi emphasized that the new outfit would not be a political party but rather a people-driven movement aimed at renewing leadership in the country.
According to him, Parliament requires individuals with integrity who can hold the Executive accountable and make difficult decisions when necessary.
He further argued that efforts to unseat President William Ruto through the ballot in 2027 may not succeed, insisting that electing credible lawmakers would provide a stronger avenue for accountability through constitutional mechanisms.
The MP has in the past claimed to be the founder of Linda Mwananchi, which morphed from the initial Kenya Moja, which he formed
