"She Can't Walk" WATCH: Emotional Scenes as a Utumishi Academy Survivor Is Discharged from KNH

A survivor of the tragic fire at Utumishi Girls Academy has revealed that some of the students accused of starting the blaze were allegedly involved in a disagreement with school administrators before the incident........................WATRCH THE VIDEO.

The Grade 10 student, who was discharged from Kenyatta National Hospital and returned home to Njoro in Nakuru County, recounted the terrifying moments that changed her life forever.

The teenager, whose identity has been withheld, sustained fractures in both legs after jumping from the first floor of the dormitory while trying to escape the flames. Although she survived, she is currently unable to walk without assistance.

According to the student, the fire may have been linked to disciplinary issues involving some learners and the school principal.

 She claimed the students behind the incident were expected to face a disciplinary session the following day and allegedly set the dormitory on fire to avoid it.

The survivor also revealed that she lost two close friends in the tragedy, a loss that continues to haunt her. Her family says she is struggling emotionally and will require counselling to overcome the trauma.

Meanwhile, another family affected by the tragedy is facing a different kind of pain. Faith Koskei, the mother of a student at the school, died in a road accident while rushing to check on her daughter after receiving a distress call on the night of the fire.
