"It's Too Late, Ruto Has Lost More" Analysts Reveal How Ruto Of Today Is Not Same As That Of 2022

With less than one year to the 2027 General Election, political duels are heating up in the country, with now the incumbent President William Ruto battling against a myriad of problems.

According to the news from People Daily, President William Ruto is reportedly confronting political, economic, and governance challenges that will shape his re-election bid.

The publication notes that despite ascending to the top seat through the "Hustler narrative," Ruto faces a delicate balancing act of delivering on his promises while managing a coalition whose internal ambitions are becoming increasingly visible.

And, according to political analyst Martin Oloo, emerging rivalries and conflicting interests within Kenya Kwanza, ODM divisions, skyrocketing fuel prices, the housing levy, increased taxation, the high cost of living, shifting political loyalties in the vote-rich Mt. Kenya region, and growing Gen Z influence are all set to complicate Dr Ruto's re-election bid.

Mr. Oloo went on to say that the machine Ruto put together on his way to power is no longer intact, as he is losing more than he gains.

"He has lost more members than he has gained. So, even if he achieves these goals, it is too late for him to change the narrative. Trust is the most difficult thing to achieve, and once lost, it is unlikely that it will be easily regained," he argued.

According to Charles Munyui, Ruto faces an uphill battle because he overpromised and some of these things have yet to be fulfilled.

"He promised a lot of things, particularly in terms of empowerment, and some of them were unrealistic in the first place.

So, if you ask me, there are some challenges that he overpromised, and even those that he did not overpromise, he has failed to deliver," he said.
