Woman Leaves Marriage After Feeling Disrespected by In-Laws Over Alleged Comments on Her Lifestyle

Life for 28-year-old Achieng, a Luhya woman from western Kenya, had been a mixture of love, compromise, and growing unease since her marriage three years ago.

Married to a man she loved deeply, she had imagined building a family grounded in respect and understanding.

The words, carried by laughter and ridicule, felt like daggers. For Achieng, it wasn’t just about eating—it was about being mocked, belittled, and treated as if she were an outsider in the very family she had married into.

The humiliation was overwhelming. Achieng recalled, “I stood frozen, heart racing. Every word they said replayed in my mind.

It wasn’t just teasing—they were openly disrespecting me in my own home. I realized that if I stayed, I would never be valued or treated with dignity.”READ MORE...................
