RIP: Shock as Shamba Boy Douses His Boss With Acid, Kills Him and Buries the Body in a Shallow Grave

Residents of Samari Village in Matungu Constituency, Kakamega County, have been left in shock following the discovery of a man’s body buried in a shallow grave within his own compound after he mysteriously disappeared days earlier.

The deceased, identified as 42-year-old George Ombogo, had reportedly travelled from Naivasha to his rural home to check on ongoing development projects before the tragic incident occurred.

According to family members, Ombogo arrived home normally and was expected to spend some time supervising activities at the homestead.

However, concern began to grow after relatives and neighbours could no longer reach him through phone calls or direct contact.

His sudden disappearance triggered panic among family members, who immediately began searching for him around the village and nearby areas.

What initially appeared to be a normal missing person case later turned into a disturbing murder investigation that has shaken the entire community.

Reports indicate that suspicion first emerged after a farm worker employed at the homestead allegedly attempted to flee from the compound under unclear circumstances.

Residents reportedly noticed the worker carrying a sack believed to contain chickens before he suddenly abandoned it and escaped after members of the public confronted him.

The strange behaviour raised alarm among neighbours, who then decided to search the compound more carefully in an attempt to understand what might have happened to the missing man.

During the search, villagers reportedly noticed signs of disturbed soil within the compound, leading to fears that something unusual had taken place there. Authorities were alerted, and police officers later arrived at the scene to begin investigations.

After examining the area, investigators discovered what appeared to be a freshly dug shallow grave. The body of the missing man was later recovered from the site, leaving residents devastated and emotionally shaken.

Reports further indicated that the body had been badly damaged, intensifying the shock and grief within the village.

The incident has sparked anger and fear among residents, many of whom described the killing as one of the most disturbing crimes the area has witnessed in recent years.

Neighbours who knew the deceased described him as a hardworking man who frequently travelled between Naivasha and his rural home to support his family and oversee projects.

Family members are now demanding swift action from security agencies, urging the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to track down the suspect and ensure justice is served.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the farm worker believed to be the main suspect in the murder. Investigators say the suspect disappeared shortly before the body was discovered and remains at large.

Authorities have not yet revealed the possible motive behind the killing as investigations continue.

The body of the deceased was moved to St Mary’s Hospital mortuary in Mumias, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted to help detectives establish more details surrounding the death.

The tragic incident has once again raised concerns over rising cases of violence and insecurity in some rural areas, with residents calling on law enforcement agencies to strengthen community policing and improve response to suspicious activities.

Leaders from the area have also urged members of the public to cooperate with investigators by providing any information that could assist in locating the suspect.

As police continue with investigations, grief and disbelief continue to engulf Samari Village, where residents are struggling to come to terms with the shocking death of a man many considered peaceful and hardworking.

The search for the suspect is ongoing.
