Night Theft Turns Dramatic After Suspected Robbers Get Stuck Inside Supermarket Following Underground Break-In Attempt

 

Residents of a quiet trading centre were left in shock after three suspected thieves found themselves trapped inside a supermarket for hours after allegedly digging an underground tunnel in an attempt to steal over KSh 200,000. 

The dramatic incident, which happened in the middle of the night, attracted crowds of curious locals who gathered outside the shop as police officers and firefighters struggled to rescue the trapped men.

According to witnesses, the suspects are believed to have spent several days secretly digging a tunnel from an abandoned building located behind the supermarket.

Their plan reportedly went smoothly at first, as they managed to break through the floor of the shop and access the storage area where cash and valuable goods were kept. 

However, things took a strange turn when part of the tunnel collapsed shortly after they entered the supermarket, blocking their only escape route and leaving them trapped inside the building until morning.

As the incident continued to unfold, some locals claimed the suspects had earlier mocked warnings from elders who advised them against stealing from hardworking business owners.
