“I Just Wanted My Money Back” – Couple Laughs About Wrong Number That Sparked Their Long-Lasting Relationship

What started as a simple mistake in 2009 has today become one of the most touching love stories in Eldoret.

Ibrahim Maina, a humble vendor from Uasin Gishu County, accidentally sent KSh 50 airtime to the wrong number while serving a customer.

Little did he know that the stranger on the other end of the phone would later become his wife and life partner for over 15 years.

Their story has continued to inspire many Kenyans who believe that destiny can sometimes work in mysterious ways.

The woman who received the airtime, Janet Waithera, was at her home in Murang’a when she got the unexpected call from Maina asking if she could reverse the transaction.

Instead of ignoring him, she patiently listened as he guided her through the process. Maina was deeply touched by her honesty after she returned most of the airtime and even thanked her for keeping KSh 10.

The two exchanged contacts and continued talking daily, building a friendship that slowly turned into genuine love despite the distance between them.

As their relationship grew stronger, the couple admitted they faced many challenges, including criticism from relatives and friends because Maina is physically disabled and uses crutches and a wheelchair.

At one point, they almost gave up on each other due to pressure and misunderstandings from people around them.READ FULL STORY HERE.
