What was meant to be a joyful celebration of love turned into an unexpected nightmare for a young Kenyan woman after her longtime friend allegedly demanded payment for food she consumed during her wedding ceremony, threatening her with consequences if she failed to comply.

The woman, who requested anonymity, explained that she had attended her close friend’s wedding months earlier believing she had been invited to celebrate one of the happiest moments of her life.
