Grief as Girl, 13, Sent To Shop By Grandma and Never Returned Murdered, Body Found Dumped In Thicket

Mugumo village in Ol-Kalou, Nyandarua County, is in mourning after the tragic killing of a 13-year-old schoolgirl who disappeared while running an errand for her grandmother.

According to local residents, the young girl, a Grade 7 pupil, left home on Wednesday afternoon after her grandmother asked her to buy items from a nearby shop. She never returned.

A search began almost immediately when evening came and there was no sign of her.

Sadly, the search ended in heartbreak when her body was discovered in a thicket just a short distance from her home.

The discovery has left villagers devastated, with many struggling to understand why anyone would harm an innocent child.

Authorities in Ol-Kalou have launched investigations to uncover what happened between the time the girl left for the shop and when her body was found.

Early findings suggest she may have been attacked before being killed. Her body was then dumped in the bush.

The police are treating the case as a serious criminal matter and have urged members of the public with any information to come forward.

Detectives believe that someone in the area may have seen or heard something that could help solve the case.

The killing has sparked anger both in the village and online. Many Kenyans have condemned the crime, expressing their sadness and calling for those responsible to face the full force of the law.

Community leaders in Mugumo have also appealed to security agencies to speed up investigations and ensure justice is served.

“This is not just a loss for the family, it is a tragedy for all of us,” said one village elder.

“We must protect our children from such acts of cruelty.”

Neighbours describe the victim as a cheerful and respectful girl who was loved by everyone around her.

Her death has brought fear among parents in the village, many of whom are now warning their children not to move around alone.
