Situation As Kindiki Hosts His Neighbours On Christmas Eve At His Irunduni Home In Tharaka Nithi

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki spent Christmas Eve at his Irunduni home in Tharaka Nithi County, hosting thousands of local residents in a gathering that blended festivity, politics, and public reassurance.

Photos shared online showed a massive crowd stretching across open ground near his rural home. Men, women, and youth packed the area, some standing on vehicles and raised ground to catch a glimpse of the Deputy President.

The turnout painted a picture of strong grassroots support and deep local connection, with Kindiki choosing to mark the festive season among ordinary citizens rather than in a formal state function.

The Christmas Eve gathering came at a time when questions had been raised about Kindiki’s recent absence from a high-profile government event in Baringo County.

His non-appearance at the annual Kimalel Goat Auction, which was attended by President William Ruto and other senior leaders, had triggered speculation online and in political circles.

Government officials later explained that the Deputy President had been unwell and was unable to travel to Baringo.

His presence at Irunduni shortly after helped calm public concern, showing that while he may have skipped one official engagement, he remained active and engaged with the public.

The Irunduni event was informal and community-focused. Residents gathered freely, waving, cheering, and celebrating the festive mood.

The rural setting, open fields, and simple surroundings reinforced an image of accessibility and humility. It was a sharp contrast to the guarded and protocol-heavy nature of many national events.
