He Stood Down For Raila" Governor James Orengo Speaks On Backing Kalonzo in 2027 Election

Siaya Governor James Orengo has refuted claims that he has endorsed Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka as his favored candidate for the upcoming presidential elections in Kenya. 

In an interview with NTV Kenya, Orengo praised Kalonzo for stepping aside in favor of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, noting that Kalonzo also played a significant role in rallying votes for Raila during the 2022 Presidential elections.

"This isn't the time for discussing coalition support; we should focus on strengthening ODM. Kalonzo made sacrifices for Raila Odinga three times, which was very challenging, but he did it. 

He also contributed significantly to Raila’s vote count in the last election, and we, as a party, value that. However, that does not imply that I support him as my preferred candidate for president," Orengo stated.

Additionally, Orengo warned that he would reveal those who he claims are plotting to undermine the Orange Democratic Movement party, making it clear that such actions would not be tolerated. 

He urged ODM supporters and members to uphold the principles for which the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga stood.
