Trans Nzoia governor, George Natembeya, has hit out at President William Ruto over what he claims are attempts to act on everyone who stands up to correct his administration.
Natembeya has termed himself among the victims of this habit, alleging that he has lost his bodyguards and driver for trying to correct the Head of State.
But he has warned that this will not go unpunished, predicting that Ruto and those working with him will be forgotten as soon as they retire because of what they are doing now.
“Those cowards who are harassing us now, history will not remember you for anything good.
You will finish your term, go home, and everybody will forget you because of prioritising your comfort at the expense of your people," he said in Saboti on Saturday.
The outspoken county chief urged the national government to respect fundamental rights and the sacrifices made by leaders who fought for the country’s independence.
He claimed that the government's move to withdraw his security detail has left him exposed, but maintained that no amount of such will make him stop opposing bad governance.
"I am walking around but I am technically just a prisoner. My guards and driver were withdwarn because I dared to tell the government the truth," he is quoted by Citizen Digital.
He is among politicians who have been aligning themselves was with the opposition, in the name of trying to battle a government they claim has completely abandoned the needs of the people.
