Detectives from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) have arrested a woman believed to be involved in supporting a terrorist group.
The operation took place on Friday, November 21, in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area after days of careful intelligence gathering.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect, identified as Asho Kassim Hassan, was found hiding in a residential building along Major Muriithi Street.

Officers moved in after receiving detailed information linking her to activities that may involve supporting terrorism.
During the arrest, detectives recovered two key items — a passport and a mobile phone. Both items will be examined by forensic experts to help investigators understand her communication patterns and possible links to other suspects.

The DCI says this analysis will play a big role in uncovering the wider network that may be working with her.
Hassan is currently in police custody. She is expected to be presented in court soon to face charges related to terrorism.

In their statement, they emphasized that intelligence-led operations, inter-agency teamwork, and cooperation from the public are important in fighting terrorism.
