Kenya Power Announces Saturday Outages in Kajiado and Siaya Counties

Kenya Power has informed customers in Kajiado and Siaya counties that they will experience planned electricity interruptions on Saturday, November 22.

The company issued the notice on Friday, explaining that the outage is necessary to allow engineers to carry out important maintenance work on the power system.

According to the announcement, the blackout in Kajiado County will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The areas that will be affected include Ilasit, Oloitoktok Town, Tarakea, Entarara, Rombo up to Elerai, Njukini, Kimana, Namelock, Isinet, Itilal, Inchalai, and Mbirikani Market.

Kenya Power noted that all nearby customers connected to these lines should also expect temporary loss of electricity during the maintenance period.

In Siaya County, the same maintenance exercise will affect Ajigo and Gobei areas on Saturday. The power interruption will impact customers in Ndori, Ajigo, Gobei, Barchando, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Kenya Power assured residents that the planned works aim to improve the reliability and stability of power supply in the region.

Earlier on Friday, the company also issued a separate update to residents of Kiambu Town regarding a change in office location. Kenya Power announced that its Kiambu Town office will be moving from the Kiambu ACK Building to Kiambu Mall.

The new office will officially begin serving customers on November 24, 2025. The company apologised for any inconvenience caused by the relocation and thanked customers for their understanding.

In another recent update, Kenya Power cautioned members of the public not to fall for fake job advertisements circulating online.

The company said scammers have been using its logo and creating false recruitment notices that appear official.

These fraudulent posts list various job openings such as technicians, accountants, data entry clerks, drivers, and customer service staff, while directing applicants to suspicious email addresses.

Kenya Power reminded the public that all genuine job advertisements are only posted on its official platforms.

The company warned Kenyans to stay alert and avoid sharing personal information with fraudsters.

Through the planned maintenance, office relocation, and public alerts, Kenya Power emphasised its commitment to improving service delivery while protecting customers from misinformation and scams.
