Isiolo South MP Tubi Bidu Dies After Short Illness

The Member of Parliament for Isiolo South, Mohamed Tubi Bidu, has died after a short illness.

Reports indicate that the first-term lawmaker passed away on the evening of Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital. 

His sudden death has shocked many across the country, especially his colleagues in Parliament and the people of Isiolo County.

Until his death, Tubi was serving in the Departmental Committee on Environment and the Public Petitions Committee in the National Assembly. 

He was elected on a Jubilee Party ticket during the 2022 general election, marking his first time in Parliament.

Before joining national politics, the late MP was the Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly between 2013 and 2017, where he was widely respected for his leadership and fairness.

While confirming his death, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula described the news as a great loss to both Parliament and the nation.

“As we come to terms with this great loss, let us remember Tubi for his remarkable service and the positive impact he had on our nation,” Wetang’ula stated.

He also sent condolences to the MP’s family, friends, and constituents, asking God to give them strength during this difficult time.

President William Ruto also joined Kenyans in mourning the legislator, describing him as a dedicated leader and passionate advocate for education.

According to the Head of State, Tubi strongly believed in empowering his community through education and opportunity.

“His commitment to transforming the lives of his constituents and advancing development in Isiolo stands as a lasting legacy of his leadership,” Ruto said in his condolence message.

He added, “May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace and comfort his loved ones.”
