Big Discovery Made About Bullets TZ Police Were Firing at Protesters During Demos

Investigations now show that security forces deployed by the Tanzanian government to battle the recent demonstrations might have been out to kill protesters and not to disperse them.

BBC reports that a look into the graphic videos recorded during the protests show a trend of direct intent to kill, including the bullets used by the officers and the areas they targeted.

For instance, they are observed to have used live bullets and not the rubber ones, with a number of the victims being observed to have suffered shots to the head.

Investigators from audio forensics experts-Earshot, which is based in London, told BBC that one of such incidents is seen in Kijitonyama, Dar es Salaam, where men in green uniforms were recorded shooting at protesters and killing at least one.

"Rubber bullets typically do not travel at supersonic speeds. The presence of these shockwaves therefore indicates the use of live rounds," BBC reports.

It has also emerged that the government deployed civilian-clothed officers against protesters, with some being seen shooting at demonstrators from a saloon car along Nujoma Road, Dar es Salaam.
