Rose Mbithe’s Daughter Claims Police Used Violence When They Arrested Her Mother and Brother

Rose Mbithe’s Daughter Angela Mwula, attracted huge attention in court, after she disclosed that her mother and brother Chris Mulwa were forcefully picked by arresting officers, who stormed their home on the evening of Wednesday 29th, July 2026, hours after Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso was killed.

While speaking at the Milimani law court on Friday 31st, July 2026, when her mother and brother were arraigned after being arrested on Thursday, Angela Mwula who also serves as an Advocate told the court that the officers who made the arrest used violence while orchestrating their mission.

According to her remarks, that night after the news about Mutiso's death was floated to the public through social media platforms, plain clothed police officers who were also wearing face masks allegedly stormed their residence in Karen, Nairobi at around 11 pm.

Angela Mwula went on to claim that the officers who were about 20 to 25 in number allegedly carried out terror and intimidation on their entire household of five members, when they (Rose Mbithe's family) tried to ask about their identify and what were the charges that were leading to the arrest of Chris and their mum Rose Mbithe.

She further told Principal Magistrate Geoffrey Onsaringo, that the officers who had carried handles of jembe and guns camped at their home for about five hours, until 3 a.m on Thursday morning when they left with the pair claiming that they were taking them to the Nairobi Central area.
