Lawyer and political activist Ndegwa Njiru has said the outcome of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election should serve as a political warning to President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a statement shared on his X account on Saturday, July 18, Njiru argued that the by-election reflected growing public dissatisfaction with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
He claimed the result was an indication of what could happen during the next general election.
"Kenyans, thank you for reminding Ruto that his biggest Waterloo is near. Ol Kalou was just but a taste of the pudding that awaits him in 2027!" Njiru posted.
His remarks followed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declaration of Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate Sammy Douglas Waweru Kamau as the winner of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election.
