Member of Parliament PK Salasya has issued a strong warning to Cleophas Malalah, urging him to stop actions that could divide the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Salasya made the remarks while addressing supporters in Bungoma, where he emphasized the need for complete unity against the current government.
Let me make this clear, Salasya stated. You cannot be the Deputy Party Leader of DCP and at the same time try to create disunity within the united opposition. He stressed that every leader must set aside personal pride and ambitions for the greater goal of defeating the regime.
According to him, the 2027 election should not revolve around who becomes the presidential candidate or deputy president. Instead, it should focus on every individual and community putting tribal interests aside to build a strong, united front.
Salasya reminded opposition members that their priority is to create a formidable alliance capable of removing the government, which he described as having failed Kenyans. He referred to President William Ruto as Mr Ebola Quarantine and suggested sending him back to his chicken farming business.
The MP directly addressed Malalah, saying it is too early to start creating divisions. He advised the former senator to remain committed to the opposition and pursue his gubernatorial ambitions without causing internal conflicts. Salasya warned that such moves could make Malalah be seen as a mole working against the opposition cause, potentially costing him political support.
The remarks come as opposition leaders intensify efforts to consolidate their forces. Political analysts say unity will be critical if they hope to mount a serious challenge in 2027.
