Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has revealed that he is facing internal resistance within the Linda Mwananchi camp over alleged links to rival political factions.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Amisi claimed that some members of the movement have labelled him a “mole” following his recent remarks questioning the direction taken by a section of leaders aligned to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
His attendance at the planned Linda Mwananchi rally in Thika on Sunday remains uncertain, amid the growing tensions.
The outspoken MP maintained that holding divergent views should not be misconstrued as betrayal or alignment with the government.
Amisi has distanced himself from calls to join the United Opposition, insisting that such a move is not a viable solution.
His remarks come in response to Sifuna’s position that he is willing to work with any leader to unseat President William Ruto.
The legislator argued that mobilising young people with promises of change, only to align them with long-serving political figures, undermines the credibility of the movement.
He further claimed that the Linda Mwananchi initiative has deviated from its original vision, prompting him to launch a parallel political mobilisation effort aimed at promoting credible leadership in Parliament.
Amisi noted that while he played a significant role in the formation of the movement, its current trajectory no longer reflects the ideals it was founded on.
