People's Liberation Party leader Martha Karua has urged opposition leaders to quickly agree on a framework for selecting a single presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Karua said she is prepared to support any candidate who emerges through a fair and transparent process, emphasizing that the wishes of the people should take precedence over individual political ambitions.
According to the former Justice Minister, the opposition cannot afford delays if it hopes to present a formidable challenge in the next election. She stressed the need for leaders to urgently establish clear rules that will guide the selection of a joint flagbearer.
Karua maintained that unity remains the opposition's strongest weapon and warned that failure to agree on a common candidate could weaken efforts to unseat President William Ruto's administration in 2027.
