President William Ruto has taken a swipe at Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the planned Gen Z protests.
Speaking during a recent public address, Ruto questioned the long political career of former Vice President, challenging his track record.
He claimed that the best thing he has done is to build a prison.
“Sasa wewe nakuuliza umekuwa kwa serikali kwa miaka 40 na kitu umejenga ni jela kidogo hapo kwako,” Ruto said, in a remark interpreted as referring to the Kithimani Prison in Yatta, Machakos County.
The President downplayed calls linked to the Gen Z-led protests, insisting that normal government and economic activities would continue without disruption despite the planned demonstrations.
Poly have warned about the risk of infiltration by suspected hired gangs, following previous demonstrations where groups of armed men on motorcycles were accused of attacking protesters and journalists in incidents that raised questions about police response.
The opposition has continued to push back against government rhetoric, while security agencies maintain that they are prepared to ensure order during the upcoming events.
