Speaking during a roundtable interview with journalists in Wajir County, Ruto said that after the 2022 General Election, he made a deliberate effort to engage leaders from different political backgrounds to gather ideas on how Kenya could achieve long-term development.

The President explained that his consultations were not limited to members of his administration or political allies.

Instead, he reached out to various leaders across the country, including former President Uhuru Kenyatta, to discuss issues affecting the nation and explore possible solutions.

Ruto acknowledged that his meeting with Uhuru attracted public interest due to their political history.

The two leaders worked together for nearly a decade before falling out during Uhuru's second term in office. Despite their differences, Ruto said they were able to hold constructive discussions about Kenya's future.

According to the President, the conversation centered on what the country should look like in the next 15 to 20 years.

He noted that Kenya must shift its focus from short-term political battles and instead concentrate on building a strong foundation for future generations.
