Ruto Hints at Uhuru Kenyatta Joining His Camp in Broad-Based Government Deal

President William Ruto has given fresh signals that he could soon be working closely with his predecessor, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, in what he described as efforts to build a broad-based government.

Speaking during a meeting at State House, Nairobi, Ruto emphasized that Kenya’s future lies in unity and cooperation across political divides.

He explained that the time for endless quarrels was over and that leaders must now put the country ahead of personal interests.

According to Ruto, Kenya cannot achieve true progress if leaders remain divided along party lines.

He said that bringing together former President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was a deliberate effort to unite the nation and push forward his development agenda.
“I am in a unique position as a leader who has worked with both sides of the political divide,” Ruto noted.
