Not Joho,Wanga or Oburu? Top ODM Bigwig Reveals Who Ruto's Should Pick as DP To Fulfill Raila's Wish

According to available sources of news, National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed has thrown his weight behind former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya for the position of Deputy President.

Speaking during a high-stakes political event, the prominent ODM legislator has bypassed top leaders like Ali Hassan Joho, Gladys Wanga and Dr. Oburu Oginga, setting the stage for a major political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Junet, appointing Oparanya as the second-in-command would directly fulfil late Raila Odinga’s long-standing dream.

The Suna East lawmaker has noted that such a move would strategically position an ODM member on a clear path toward inheriting the presidency of Kenya.

In a firm declaration, Junet has revealed that ODM has firmly made up its mind regarding its political future and is ready to engage in formal talks with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

He has confirmed that the ODM party has officially decided to back President William Ruto's reelection campaign in 2027.

However, this backing comes with a strict, non-negotiable condition. The lawmaker has explicitly stated that ODM will completely reject any political formation or coalition that includes former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

This bold announcement underscores the rapidly unfolding dynamics of Kenya's broad-based government arrangement.

By drawing a clear line in the sand regarding Gachagua, the ODM wing has thrown a curveball into Mount Kenya politics while simultaneously presenting Oparanya as the ultimate bridge to Western and Nyanza support.

The strategic endorsement not only shifts the internal power balance within ODM but also sends a clear signal to State House that the opposition's cooperation hinges on complete restructuring at the very top of executive leadership.
