Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his criticism of President William Ruto’s administration, declaring that he will mount a vigorous challenge against the Head of State if selected as the Opposition’s presidential flagbearer in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a political rally on Friday, June 12, 2026, Gachagua questioned the President’s record in office, arguing that many of the promises made during the 2022 campaign period remain unfulfilled.
“If Ruto has not fulfilled the promises he made during campaigns, what makes you think that he will change in his next term? If I’m chosen as the Opposition flagbearer, I will not allow him to breathe,” Gachagua said.
The former Deputy President's remarks signal an escalation in political rhetoric as opposition leaders continue to position themselves ahead of the next electoral contest. GET FULL STORY HERE.
