Gachagua: Ksh 300,000 Was Paid for Rachel Wandeto's Murder — Police Investigations Reveal

A shocking new claim has emerged linking the brutal killing of gospel singer Rachel Wandeto to powerful political interests in Kenya..................WATCH VIDEO OF THE FORMER DEPUTY PRESIDENT SPEAKING ABOUT WANDETO'S MURDER.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua says police investigations have revealed that Ksh 300,000 was paid to execute the murder.

The allegation has triggered anger, fear, and intense political tension across the country.

Wandeto, a gospel artist known for her bold political loyalty, was attacked on May 16, 2026 in Mwiki, Kasarani.

She had openly supported President William Ruto, even tattooing his image on her body and writing “TUTAM” as a declaration of loyalty.

According to the details shared, three masked men ambushed her as she walked home.

They allegedly demanded money and accused her of benefiting from her political connections before dousing her with petrol and setting her on fire.

She was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital with severe burns covering about 75 percent of her body.

Despite efforts to save her, she died on May 18, 2026, sparking nationwide outrage over the brutality of the attack.

The case has now taken a dramatic political turn after Gachagua alleged that police briefings point to masterminds behind the killing.
He claims Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and a Nairobi woman senator are among those implicated, with Ksh 300,000 allegedly used to fund the attack.

These claims have intensified scrutiny on the ongoing investigations, especially given Murkomen’s earlier public response.

He had visited Wandeto in hospital alongside Inspector General Douglas Kanja, condemning the attack and promising justice for the victim.

The contradiction between his public condemnation and the new allegations has fueled suspicion and heated debate online and within political circles.

It has also raised questions about whether the investigation can remain independent given the positions held by those allegedly mentioned.
