The nine Utumishi Girls Academy students have been handed a ruling which will require them to spend 21 days in custody as their case is being concluded.
The police had filed for the students to be detained for 21 days which the Court has granted today.
The nine accused will be remanded for 21 days pending a complete investigation into the fire tragedy that consumed their dormitory.
The Utumishi Girls incident has been one of the deadliest school fire incidents in the Country and the police are treating with much concern and responsibility.
Sixteen girls lost their lives on the fateful night while more than seventy students suffered serious injuries.
The case which is being handled with much care given the age of the suspects involved will resume in the next three weeks. May justice prevail to the affected.
