Drama as Two Thieves Suffer Horrific Accident Minutes After Allegedly Making Away With UGX 45 Million

 

Two men suspected of stealing UGX 45 million from a prominent Kampala businessman narrowly survived a horrific road accident moments after carrying out the daring robbery. 

According to eyewitnesses, the suspects had reportedly trailed the businessman from a bank in Kampala before snatching a bag believed to contain the huge sum of money.

Reports indicate that after stealing the money, the suspects sped off recklessly in an attempt to escape from pursuing boda boda riders and members of the public. 

However, only a few kilometers from the scene of the robbery, their vehicle rammed into a stationary truck, causing a grisly accident that attracted crowds of shocked onlookers. 

Witnesses say the impact was so severe that the car was completely wrecked, leaving the suspects trapped inside with serious injuries.

Police officers and emergency responders rushed to the scene and rescued the injured suspects before transporting them to a nearby hospital under tight security. 

During the rescue operation, part of the stolen money was allegedly recovered from the damaged vehicle, while investigations were immediately launched to establish whether the thieves had accomplices who escaped with the remaining cash.

Many residents described the incident as mysterious and shocking, with some claiming it was a sign that justice had caught up with the suspects instantly after committing the crime. 

The Kampala businessman, whose identity has been withheld for security reasons, was left traumatized by the robbery but later thanked authorities for their quick response in recovering some of the stolen funds.
