Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo has made a remarkable comeback after being appointed as among the board of trustees for the Eliud Owalo Foundation.
The Eliud Owalo Foundation was launched a few weeks ago by the former ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo, who is now the deputy chief of staff in the Executive Office of the President.
The launch was graced by several notable figures including former cabinet minister Raphael Tuju and Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru.
Once a powerful figure in the former President Uhuru Kenyatta's government, Omamo made history when she became the first female Defence minister in Kenya following her appointment in 2013.
She would later be appointed as foreign affairs CS during Uhuru's second and final term in office.
Before her appointment to the cabinet, Omamo served as Kenya's ambassador to France with concurrent accreditation to Portugal, Spain, Serbia and the Holy See.
An advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Omamo made history as Kenya's first ever female President of the Law Society of Kenya.
The University of Kent- educated Omamo is the daughter of the former powerful KANU and Moi- era minister William Odongo Omamo.
