DCI Officers Deployed to Kasipul Amid Tense By-Election Voting

Kasipul Constituency is witnessing heightened security measures as the by-election continues on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) left Oyugis Police Station early in the morning to reinforce security in the area.

Their deployment comes amid reports of tense situations and disagreements at several polling stations.

Eyewitnesses say that voters arrived at polling stations early, and in some areas, long queues formed as residents waited to cast their votes.

Despite the excitement, there were sporadic incidents of tension among supporters of different candidates, prompting authorities to act quickly to prevent escalation.

The DCI team, fully equipped and accompanied by local police, moved in convoys toward Kasipul, aiming to maintain order and ensure that the voting process remains peaceful.

Their presence is also intended to deter any attempts of voter intimidation, bribery, or interference with election materials.

Local residents expressed mixed feelings about the deployment. Some welcomed the officers, saying that their presence would guarantee a free and fair voting environment.

Others, however, felt nervous about the heavy security presence, worried that it could escalate conflicts rather than calm them.

Election officials have urged the public to remain calm and allow the process to continue smoothly.

They stressed the importance of transparency and adherence to voting rules.

“Our goal is to make sure every eligible voter can exercise their right without fear or obstruction,” one official said.

The Kasipul by-election has attracted national attention, with candidates campaigning vigorously and supporters closely monitoring proceedings.

Security agencies are on high alert, coordinating efforts to quickly respond to any incidents.
