My Name Is Patrick from Gulu, I Graduated with a Master’s Degree from Makerere University but Ended Up Riding a Boda Boda to Survive After Years of Job Rejections

My name is Patrick, a man from Gulu, Uganda, and I want to share my story to encourage people who are struggling in life despite being educated and hardworking.

Growing up, I believed education was the key to success and a better future. I worked extremely hard in school, sacrificed many things, and eventually achieved one of my biggest dreams by graduating with a Master’s Degree from Makerere University. When I completed my studies, my family and friends believed my life would change immediately.

Everyone expected me to get a high-paying job, support my family comfortably, and live a successful life. I also believed my qualifications would open doors easily because I had worked hard for many years to reach that academic level.Unfortunately, life turned out very differently from what I expected.

I applied for countless jobs in different companies and organizations, attended interviews, and submitted applications everywhere, but nothing worked out.

Months turned into years without stable employment. The pressure at home increased daily because people could not understand how someone with a Master’s Degree remained jobless for so long.As financial problems became worse, I had no option but to start riding a boda boda in order to survive and support myself.

Although the work helped me earn something small, it was emotionally painful because many people mocked and judged me after discovering my education level. Some passengers even laughed openly after learning that a Master’s graduate was transporting people on a motorcycle for survival.READ FULL STORY HERE.
