Moses Kuria Reaches Out to Linda Mwananchi Team After Gachagua Warns Them to Stay Away From Ol Kalou

Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has reached out to members of the Linda Mwananchi team after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua urged them to keep away from the ongoing Ol Kalou by-election campaigns, saying the contest should remain a locally driven affair.

Kuria made the appeal through a social media post shortly after Gachagua publicly discouraged Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata and the Linda Mwananchi team from joining the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) campaigns in Ol Kalou.

Addressing Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, Bumula MP Jack Wamboka Wanami and Siaya Governor James Orengo, Kuria presented himself as their dependable ally in the Mt Kenya region.

"Now you know. I am your only true and honest friend in the Mountain," Kuria wrote.

In his appeal to the Linda Mwananchi team, the former CS also lashed out at Gachagua, describing him as an irredeemable tyrant, tribal, egocentric, and a bigoted ingrate.

Kuria's remarks came after Gachagua said the Linda Mwananchi team should not participate in DCP's Ol Kalou campaigns unless they were campaigning for another political party.

Speaking to journalists, the DCP party leader maintained that the by-election campaign had been running for months under local leaders and should not be disrupted at the final stage.

Gachagua argued that Kang'ata was unfamiliar with the local issues, the campaign strategy and the DCP candidate, insisting that the contest was being handled by leaders on the ground, including his right-hand man Nyandarua Senator John Methu.

The former deputy president also said the principals of the United Alternative Government had agreed to allow residents of Ol Kalou to manage the campaign themselves, describing it as a local political contest focused on local issues rather than a national campaign.
