Meet Faith Mukiri, the Young Kenyan Mortuary Attendant Breaking Stereotypes by Caring for the Deceased With Dignity in a Profession Many Fear but Few Realize Can Offer a Stable Living

Faith Mukiri, popularly known as Fei, works in a mortuary. Her job is to ensure that the bodies of the deceased are properly cared for and preserved from deterioration.

This includes washing and dressing them in clean clothes, and in some cases applying makeup to help them look presentable for their final viewing and burial.

Many people look down on this profession, but it is actually one of the better-paying jobs in Kenya. By the way, would you be willing to do this kind of work for a salary of KSh 30,000 per month?

The video below shows Faith preparing clothes for one of the deceased.
