Esther Passaris Welcomes Obado's Conviction in Sharon Otieno Murder Case: "No One Is Above the Law"

Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris has welcomed the High Court's decision to convict former Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his two co-accused over the 2018 murder of Sharon Otieno, saying the verdict sends a clear message that no one is above the law.

Reacting to the judgment by Justice Cecilia Githua, Passaris said the verdict could not bring back Sharon or her unborn child, but it reaffirmed the principle that every person is equal before the law.

She said that although justice had taken years, accountability remains important because it restores public confidence that every life matters equally.

According to the ODM lawmaker, the judgment also shows that truth and accountability can prevail despite delays in the justice process.
