The former Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, has once again caused a stir online after thanking the Gen Z population for not taking part in the Thursday protests, which was meant to celebrate the 2nd year anniversary of the June, 2024 protests on the controversial Finance Bill.
According to the former Deputy President, the Gen Z population failure to be a part of the protests was a clear sign that many of them did listen to his plea.
The former DP even alleged that the Government had planned to injure and even kill some of them had they gone to the streets.
"I sincerely thank my dear sons and daughters, the Gen Zs, for heeding my plea to avoid death and injury. They had planned to harm you in a big magnitude.
It will serve as a lesson to future administrations that the people are supreme." Said the former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua.
The statement by the former DP has causeda lot of reactions from among Kenyans, with a section of them accusing Gachagua of trying taking credit where he is not supposed to.
Others have insisted that the decision by the Gen Zs not to show up was not as a result of listening to Gachagua but out of their own decision. See how Kenyans reacted, and what they told the former Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua;
"Everyone has his responsibility to carry as a patriot."
"Gen Zs were not just interested by themselves. It's not Gachagua who told them."
"There are no protests without the ODM party."
"We are not your sons or daughters. We know you want to take credit for our struggle."
