During a meeting held at a Nairobi hotel, a section of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) youth wing challenged Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna to leave the party and form their own political group.
The meeting was attended by ODM delegate Kasmuel McOure, who was flanked by ODM Kajiado County Youth Coordinator Mwalimu Julius and ODM Youth Advocate for Nairobi County Roseline Alionya.
The youth leaders were firm in their message, arguing that party unity should be protected and that leaders who create division should be free to leave.
The youth wing accused Babu Owino and Sifuna of causing internal conflicts and disrupting the party’s cohesion.
They said such behaviour was not helpful, especially as the party prepares for future elections.
