"There Will Be Breaking News" - Amisi Speaks On Next Move If Sifuna Is Not The 2027 Candidate

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has issued a firm and unambiguous declaration backing Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna for the presidency in 2027 warning that if Sifuna chooses not to run and instead supports established political figures there will be "some breaking news" from his end.

Taking to Facebook Amisi said his position on who should lead Kenya into the next election has never changed and will not change regardless of the pressure he faces from within the opposition ranks.

"It must be very clear to naysayers that the only person I will support for president of the Republic of Kenya in 2027 is Edwin Sifuna," he wrote adding that anyone expecting him to back down on his call for generational change would be disappointed.

He framed the 2027 election as a defining moment for a generation saying Kenya needs a full political renaissance and not another recycling of the same old faces that have dominated the country's leadership for decades.

"We must achieve the call of our generation na sio tafadhali. I have been very consistent on my call for generational change and I will not back down to please some egos. Kenya needs a renaissance!" Amisi declared.

The statement carries added weight given that Amisi had in recent weeks publicly criticised the Linda Mwananchi movement which he claims to have founded accusing it of losing direction and pursuing alliances with legacy politicians through a proposed United Opposition arrangement.

He argued that such moves betray the movement's original people-centred mandate and risk repeating the same political failures that have held Kenya back.

He even floated the idea of forming a new Renaissance Movement or People's Movement to realign with those founding principles.

Despite those criticisms Amisi's latest post reaffirms his personal loyalty to Sifuna while drawing a clear line against any alliance that would compromise the generational change agenda.

Political observers say the mixed signals reveal deepening cracks within the opposition ahead of 2027 with some seeing Amisi's declarations as an attempt to force Sifuna toward committing to a solo presidential bid rather than folding into a broader coalition built around established names.
