"The Day You Impeached Gachagua, You Impeached Mt Kenya People" Vocal Advocate Openly Tells Ruto

Latest reports indicates that Advocate Ndegwa Njiru has directed a message at President William Ruto over the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Via his X account, Ndegwa framed the move as more than a political process, arguing that it carried broader implications for the Mt Kenya region.

“Ruto @WilliamsRuto KINDLY TAKE NOTICE that the day you impeached @rigathi, you impeached the people of Mt. Kenya,” the advocate stated in a message that has since sparked heated political discussion online.

The statement reflects growing claims among sections of leaders and supporters that Gachagua's political troubles extend beyond individual accountability and touch on regional political representation. 

The debate has further exposed widening tensions surrounding alliances that helped shape the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Supporters of the position argue that Gachagua embodied the political voice and interests of a significant voting bloc that strongly backed President Ruto in the 2022 election. 

Critics, however, insist that constitutional and leadership processes should not be interpreted through a tribal or regional lens.
