"Parliament Is The Highest Seat In The Land" Khalwale Speaks, Warns These Leaders Over The Following

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has stirred debate after taking a swipe at leaders who choose public gatherings to air political grievances instead of using official institutions.

Speaking during a public address, Khalwale defended Parliament as the proper arena for political debate and accountability.

He argued that elected leaders are given an opportunity to express their views, challenge government policies, and raise concerns through parliamentary proceedings.

The senator maintained that Parliament remains the highest decision making institution in the country and provides members with the freedom to speak on matters affecting citizens.

According to him, leaders who fail to utilize that platform should not shift political contests to funerals and other social events.

His remarks appeared aimed at the growing trend where politicians use burial ceremonies to criticize rivals, settle scores, and address national issues before large crowds.

Such gatherings have increasingly become stages for political exchanges, often attracting significant public attention.

Khalwale insisted that serious national matters should be discussed within established institutions where debates are recorded and subjected to proper scrutiny.

He noted that Parliament was created to facilitate open discussion and provide solutions to challenges facing the country.

The comments are likely to fuel fresh political discussions, especially at a time when funeral events have become influential platforms for leaders seeking to connect with supporters and communicate political messages outside formal government settings.
