The outspoken legislator took to social media to express her anger after Orengo allegedly made comments that she interpreted as insulting to women.

Although the exact remarks were not fully detailed publicly, Fatuma insisted that leaders seeking national influence should show respect to all groups, especially women.

In a strongly worded Facebook post, the Migori MP said she could not support a leader who allegedly belittles women while seeking to position himself as a senior figure within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Fatuma also compared Orengo’s leadership style with that of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, praising Raila for what she described as his respectful treatment of women throughout his political career.

“Raila Odinga never insulted women,” she stated while distancing herself from Orengo’s leadership ambitions within the party.
