The Kenyan Government has today broken silence with a message on various awards targeting a section of Kenyans.
Addressing via the Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Human Rights Violations, the Kenyan Government has awarded various monetary payments to Kenyans affected during protests and demonstrations between 2013 and 2025.
The Kenyan Government has awarded Ksh50,000 to Kenyans who sustained minor injuries or suffered economic losses during protests and demonstration witnessed in the country between the aforementioned years. The state revealed that the Ksh50,000 award will be given to 60 victims of minor injuries and 4 victims of economic losses.
The Kenyan Government has further awarded a compensation amounting to Ksh500,000 to those Kenyan citizens who sustained moderate injuries during protests and demonstrations. The state underscored that number of Kenyans awarded the strategic Ksh500,000 compensation are 137.
The Kenyan Government has stated that Kenyans who sustained severe injuries or were victims of aggravated sexual offences during the protests and demonstrations of between the year 2013 and 2025 will be awarded Ksh1 Million each.
The Kenyan Government divulged that a total number of 24 Kenyans sustained severe injuries during the stated protests and demonstrations while 8 were victims of aggravated sexula offences and are the ones eligible for the remarkable Ksh1 Million award.
