"Hope You Have Informed Gachagua" Itumbi Alleges Kalonzo's Preferred Choice For Running Mate

Digital strategist and presidential adviser Dennis Itumbi has sparked debate online after making claims about opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s alleged plans for the 2027 General Election.

In remarks shared on social media, Itumbi claimed that Kalonzo has already prepared a documentary chronicling his four decades in public service.

According to the claims, the documentary is expected to premiere in September, around the same period that the Wiper Party leader is reportedly planning to officially declare his presidential bid.

Itumbi further alleged that Kalonzo has identified Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as his preferred running mate for the 2027 race.

If true, such a decision could generate discussion within the opposition ranks, particularly among leaders associated with the broader opposition alliance, including former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

According to Itumbi, the reported choice of Sifuna would represent a significant political calculation as opposition leaders continue consultations aimed at building a united front ahead of the next election. However, neither Kalonzo nor Sifuna has publicly confirmed the claims.

The presidential adviser also alleged that Kalonzo intends to use the Ukombozi Alliance as his political vehicle rather than the Azimio coalition framework that featured prominently in previous elections.

This claim has similarly not been officially confirmed by the opposition leader.

Itumbi made the remarks while responding to political developments within the opposition and appeared to suggest that government allies remain well-informed about the plans and strategies being discussed by rival political camps.

The comments quickly generated mixed reactions online, with supporters and critics offering differing views on the claims.

Some questioned the accuracy of the allegations, while others speculated on what such political alignments could mean for the opposition’s efforts to field a strong candidate in 2027.

As political activity gradually intensifies ahead of the next election cycle, attention is increasingly turning to potential alliances, presidential candidates, and running mates.

For now, however, Itumbi’s assertions remain unverified, and political observers are awaiting official statements from the leaders mentioned before drawing conclusions about the opposition’s plans for 2027.
