Caroli Omondi - Kimani Ichung'wah is Wasting Our Time in Parliament Addressing Imaginary Enemies

Tension has been escalating in the National Assembly as members debate on the Finance Bill 2026 that is in clause by clause scrutiny after sailing through in the second reading. 

Suba South MP Caroli Omondi who is a member of Linda Mwananchi Movement has accused the majority leader Kimani Ichung'wah for wasting a lot of time addressing imaginary enemies.

The parliament has witnessed clashes every now and then between the government allied MPs and those in the Opposition. The opposition MPs are opposition the bill saying it punitive to the common mwananchi while benefiting those in power.

On the other hand, the side aligned with the government are accusing the opposition MPs for misleading the public by citing clauses that do not exist in the bill. 

One of the issues that have caused clashes in parliament is the VAT tax imposed on mitumba clothes and mobile phones.The opposition MPs says the bill will make clothes so expensive.

Amid these clashes, Caroli Omondi said Kimani Ichung'wah is wasting their time while addressing the enemies that do not exist in reality. 

At some point the Kikuyu MP said the opposition members are against the Bill because they have been mislead by Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua.

Some MPs allied to the opposition have taken it to social media platforms to reject the Bill in enterity. One of them is Saboti MP Caleb Amisi who posted on Facebook that the Bill should be rejected in totality.
