The event, attended by top party officials and grassroots leaders, turned lively when Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, and Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang’ shared the stage with MP Phelix Odiwuor Orero, who made a humorous but powerful remark about party loyalty.
Speaking passionately, Orero said, “Oburu Oginga akisema left, ni left, na akisema right, ni right!” — a statement that drew cheers and laughter from the crowd.
His words captured the mood of unity and discipline that ODM leaders have been calling for, especially amid renewed efforts to strengthen the party’s structures across the country.
The meeting, held at Oburu’s residence in Bondo, was part of ongoing consultations within the Orange Democratic Movement to reorganize its grassroots leadership.

Many speakers hailed Oburu for his long-standing wisdom and leadership within the party, describing him as a guiding figure who continues to hold ODM together even after decades in politics.
“We still look up to Oburu for direction,” said one delegate from Kisumu. “He has seen it all and knows what ODM needs at this time. When he speaks, we listen.”
Another attendee added, “The energy in that meeting showed ODM is not divided. It’s stronger than people think.”
As the meeting ended, the mood remained upbeat, with members pledging to stay united and follow the party’s direction. For many who attended, Orero’s remark was more than just a joke — it summed up ODM’s enduring loyalty to its founding ideals and the leaders who have kept its spirit alive.
